Best little greasy spoon burger joint in the South! Get a hamburger all the way, french fries, and a Dr. Pepper. Finish up with a chocolate fried pie when they have them. This is the place that I know if I take my kids we will all be happy. Great food, fast service, cheap! Dubs has been in Athens forever and eating here is one of the most quintessentially Athens things you can do. Enjoy!

I've never been a big fan of "slug burgers", but my wife likes them, and she said hers was really good. The staff were very friendly, our food came out fast (especially considering how busy they were -- a sign of a good restaurant), and it was hot. We'll definitely go back.

Dub's Burgers is a big peice of Athens history. The food is always very good. The service is almost always very good as well. Unfortunately our last visit was not their usual greatness. It took them an extraordinarily long time to greet us at our table. When the server did arrive and was very apologetic and was friendly. My wife ordered a grilled cheese and fries and I ordered a cheese burger all the way and fries. The grilled cheese also took forever to arrive. My burger and fries were great as usual however, the grilled cheese was just about dripping with butter, just way too much. This is not the usual from Dub's Burgers just my honest review from my last visit.

New owner was super friendly! Burgers are very tasty. Great hole in the wall spot. Love the locals that stop in.

On a suggestion by my girlfriend, I decided to give Dub's a try. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the burger was. Having moved here from NY I'm very interested in trying the local cuisine & Dud's serves a TOP NOTCH burger. I recommend that if you haven't been here, or its been a while since your last visit you find the time to stop in & get yourself 1 of their fantastic burgers. Do keep in mind that they are only open till 2pm, so plan to get there early, you WILL NOT be disappointed!!!!

Super fast and super friendly workers. Our food was to the table in less than 5 minutes and it was to perfection!! REAL burgers, crispy outside and tender juicy (but not pink!!!) inside. It is what some might call a hole in the wall place, but you will miss out if you turn your nose up at this spot!! GO if you are in the area.

I've spent over 30 years coming here with family. Nothing in the world like Dubs. As long as the doors are open, I'll be there for a double cheese all the way😊💜💃Don't forget the salt & extra napkins🤣 she's gonna be Greasy😋

Great burgers if you like "slug burgers". The burger is a mixture of filler and meat. I have eaten at Dub's since the early 70's and love them. Not all like them though, my wife cannot stand them. It is a different taste. The FF are good too. Just the plain frozen crinkle cut kind.

Food was pretty good, but gross on the inside.

Had to wait 25 minutes for order, and the Berger was terrible. "All the way" Apparantly means with slaw, which was terrible. Fries were very plain, no salt or seasoning. Chocolate pie was just fried chocolate pudding. Staff was very friendly, but that was the only high point.

I am not a fan. To me a burger is supposed to be beef, not a mixture of pork and bread and whatever else they use. I think they would be better if they had more flavor and a lot less grease. The French fries are pretty good. The tea is good. The grilled cheese is good. The burgers, not so much.

This is a uniquely Athens restaurant. I love the food and attitude. It's a great place to bring kids and family. The food is home team back porch goodness.

Went by there yesterday. They are doing curbside service currently, so be prepared to hangout in your car. The service was quick and the food was amazing. We had the cheeseburgers all the way with onion rings. I would post pictures but they didn't last long enough for one. Lol. Great greasy burger joint. You have to try it if you are in Athens.

Can't believe I've never reviewed Dub's! I've been going to this place steadily since about 02 or 03 and will continue to as long as possible. Not a more unique burger anywhere. Do yourself a favor and stop in sometime. Get there early though, especially on Saturdays, the meat is always fresh and never frozen (it can't be) and once they run out for the day that's it and they close early.

They take there phone off the hook 45 mins before closing so nobody can order food to good before they close. Bet they close before time too, well I drove a hour there and they have a restaurant full of ppl and sign said they close at 2 and they said there closed . Never again will I waste my time

For a local place, it’s just OK. The hamburger meat doesn’t even taste like real meat. The place heavily smells of grease, which is somewhat understandable due to the appliances being upfront, but you can taste it and pay for it later. I say it’s OK because it’s a local place and I try to support the local places.

You simply can not come to Athens Alabama and not go to Dubs for a cheese burger and fries. There are burgers then there's a Dubs all the way. If you truly want a wonderful lunch go to Dubs.

This is a great slug burger. The flat top grill adds a nice crispy sear to the patty. The slaw is tart and the ketchup, mustard, and pickle complement it well. It's a wonderful greasy burger. Classic, old fashioned food. Also, get a fried chocolate pie. Delicious!

Took 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge we were there. Used to be a must do in Athens. Now I would stay away. Service and food was terrible.

The locals love this place but I am not impressed. Fried burgers, subpar. It is very cheap and the staff is nice. Cash or check only. Go elsewhere.
